Disney/ Flordia

On Friday October 19 we checked Haley Grace out of school early and headed to Lakeland Fl. I have family in Lakeland.

Four Months

On July 13 Ella Kay turned 4 months old. She is just growing way too fast. Everyone says to enjoy it while it last, & I am trying!! During her 4 months check up she grew to 24.5 inches and 12 pounds 15 ounces. She is actually a little lighter than we thought. She DOES NOT like Tummy Time!!! We do it as much as she will tolerate. She stays awake a lot longer these days. Ella Kay is starting to get bald spots around the back of her head.  It hasn't dawned on me to take a picture of miss priss with her clinched fist around her hair until now. I will post some pics of this and her bald spots on a later post.

Way Behind But...

I am quite behind on the blogging, I know. I will be playing catch up during our 10 day trip to Disney World starting on Friday. So stay tuned for all the updates and travel pics.

Brian Keith Couch 01/24/1987 - 09/22/2012

I dedicate this post to my brother, Brian Keith Couch. In honor and memory to the great person he was! I love him very much. He touched the lives of so many. It makes me cry just to say not my Ella Kay's. She will never know her uncle Brian for he was taken too soon. He is now in heaven and watching her everyday!! She has a special guardian angel now, one who had even rocked her to sleep. While she sleeps now in silence she is not alone because I know he will always be with her. I will always miss my brother for he had a very special place in my heart, as I'm sure most brothers do.  Since he deserves so much more than one simple post, because he was such a wonderful person, I'm going to do a post about him each year on his birthday. On January 24, 2013 he would have turned 26 years old. He had the best personality for making anyone laugh!! He was always trying to make a joke or acting silly. I will forever miss that big ole smile. While he may have had some downs in his life, he was on his biggest up yet. Just two days after he was killed by a drunk driver he was to start college. We will think of many other things that could have happened to have prevented this from happening. In the end I will remember that God does all things for a reason. Maybe it was to teach me not to take things for granted, because you never know what might happen. Or maybe it was to help me remember to take more pictures in the future, like I should have done when he was alive. Maybe it was to teach me to appreciate my family more than I do. I do know that what I have learned is they might not be here tomorrow and you'll want them to know you love them and have no regrets!! I love you Brian Keith!!! And someday I'll see you again!

The Beach

This is the best picture of Ella Kay that got taken at the beach.
I walked into the living room and this is what I found.

The Beach is usually such a lovely place. But not always with an infant, because Ella Kay didn't really care for the heat. We loaded up the car for what was supposed to be a few days at the beach, which turned into a week. It was nice to get away! Jonathon was determined to have every day packed with something to do. Haley Grace and him spent their days at the beach. This year was the first time Haley tried to surf. They rented a surf board most days. We take a family vacation almost every year to Pensacola Beach, Fl. Jonathon has an aunt (Jane) who lives there. Ella Kay and I spent most of the time in doors. Unfortunately I did not get many pictures of this beach trip, but you can see the ones I did below. There was a grand opening for a huge Ferris Wheel on the strip, and we got to ride it on opening day.

Maternity Shoot

She just couldn't believe she got to do this.

These photos were taken on Valentine's Day 2012. The original date we scheduled for this shoot had to be changed because a water pipe busted at our house. The relevance to the date is that it's exactly one month before Ella Kay arrived. So she came early and my life's been a little behind ever since (hence posting pictures from 6 months ago). I think Amber Black did a terrific job!

Ready or Not... Second Grade Here I Come

Haley Grace started second grade on Monday, August 20,2012. It's just amazing how times flies and how quickly children change. Her teacher this year will be Mrs.Lombard. We wanted her to be in Mrs. Lombard's class. She is such a sweet lady! HG is so excited about second grade. She is a wonderful student, so her teachers say, I know she'll have a great year. She's the happiest about her friends being in her class. We're off to the 2012-2013 school year, to many memories and some new friends.

My First Wedding

Here's Ella Kay with her Lulu
We had a lot going on at the end of June and beginning of July. Ella Kay attended her first wedding. My brother and sister's dad Jr got married to Tina. It may have been a small wedding but it was cute. Haley Grace was tickled pink when she caught the bouquet. We drove all the way to Cullman to attend this event, and stayed for most of the afternoon. That very next morning we were leaving for the beach, and I hadn't packed the first thing. I am glad we got to attend and Ella Kay got to see everyone!

This cake was yummy!

Swimming, Yes I think so!

I do believe we're going to have a swimmer. This is Ella Kay on her first swim in the pool. She loved it!! She didn't make a fuss at all even in the chilly water. I think she's going to love it as much as I did. Posted at the bottom is the video of her first swim in the pool.

I grow a bit everyday!

I'm growing stronger, braver, smarter and even cuter everyday!!

Happy 4th of July

Haley Grace with Griffin
We spent our 4th of July in Pensacola Beach, Flordia. This was Ella Kay's first trip to the beach and I will have a post on that later. We went for a barbeque at Caroline's house. She had 7 dogs. Ella Kay had never been around so many dogs, but I think she liked watching them. Then we went to watch fireworks. It was a nice 4th of July!!

Three months and we're on a roll

First time she rolled over June 28, 2012
So here are some newer pictures with some exciting news!! Ella Kay has rolled! We should have her three month pictures back later this week, but for now here she is. This by far is her biggest accomplishment for three months. She also blows bubbles, drools a lot, laughs, and does tons of baby talk.

This is how we Bumbo while watching the fish swim inside their tank. She really likes this!

Clubs

Owens Cross Roads School (OCR) is a wonderful school! I am really glad that Haley Grace attends school here. It is a small environment which fosters great learning!! In the end of year letter Mrs. Smith sent home to the parents she said that in her 20 years of teaching this years class was the smallest ever. She only had 13 students. OCR has after school clubs for students to participate in. Haley Grace is allowed, per her dad, to participate in only one club per session. This is a picture from Krazy Keyboarders club.

The End (of 1st grade)

Haley Grace with Lauren Busbey during awards day 2012
Haley Grace is such a smart little girl!! She got all A's for the entire school year, which not very many students in either of the 1st grade classes at Owens Cross Roads received.

World's Best 1st Grade Teacher Mrs. Susan Smith
Haley Grace's favorite food is Mexican. It's no surprise that this is what she picked to eat for lunch to celebrate the end of 1st grade. One of her good friends Hailey Chaffin joined us for lunch. Even though they weren't in the same class this year, they're still good friends and have been since Pre-K.

Hello Everyone Ella Kay went to the doctor on May 21st for her 2 month check up. Boy has seen grown lil piggy!!! She weighed 10.3 pounds and was 22.5 inches long. She is growing everyday!! She loves her paci. A few other things she likes are baths, her gym, bumbo seat (but only for a few minutes) & blowing bubbles. She hasn't learned to roll yet but she is working hard at it!! My goal is to post a monthly picture of her so everyone can see how she's growing.

Here she is with Dr.Cochran...it looks like she's kinda laughing in this picture instead of fussing.

Happy Birthday Ella Kay

At 1:54 pm on March 13, 2012 Abriella Kay Boman was born. She was five weeks early. She weighed 6 lbs. 6 oz. & was 19 inches long. Pretty big for 5 weeks early. At 7 am that morning I felt two small pains and then my water broke. I told Jonathon we would be going to the hospital. The first thing I did was contact Dr. Callison. Then I took a shower. I had a few people tell my to take my time when I went into labor because it's a long process (well not for me). On the way to the hospital we went through the McDonald's drive through and that's when the pains started. We arrived at the hospital at 9am and by 11am I was fully dilated. Things were moving so quickly that I barely had time to get an epidural. The nurse checked me right after the epidural and I was at 9. Talk about cutting it close! The whole thing happened so fast that we didn't even have the camera to take pictures. But we did get some the next day...
To say the least it's a very scary experience to see your child hooked up to IVs and living inside an incubator knowing there is nothing you can do about it!

Look at my sweet baby with her little IV.
